Where can I read about Blessings in the Bible?

The words Bless, Blessed, and Blessing are used over 400 times in the bible according to someone online who spent a lot of free time counting. I trust that it is used a great number of times, but have never personally counted. You can find blessings in the bible from Genesis to Revelation. I will however share a few of my favorites with you!

  • Deuteronomy 11:26-28 is a great example of how our Lord God used “Blessing” as a reward for obedience – 26 See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse— 27 the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today28 the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.
  • Numbers 6:22-27 is a good example of how God taught us to bless: 22 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: 24 “The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” ’ 27 “So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”
  • Psalm 20:4 is a great way to pray a blessing over others: May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose.
